  • Depending on the kid and the distance - between 10 and 12.

  • That depends on a lot of factors such as the age of the child, the maturity level of the child, the distance to school and the route to school (quiet residential roads or busy roads).

  • Depends if I can trust her.
My mom let me do some grocery shopping by the age of 7 or eight. The market was across the street.

  • I probably won't. Where we're moving a bus picks the kids up. I was thinking though it is the same distance from my new place to the school that I had to walk as a kid. Times are different.

  • i live right next to the school so as soon as they start school they can walk by themselves. As for the store probably never! It is on the other side of a very busy highway!

  • My kids are grown so I'll give you a bump. But where I live in the country they were bused and couldn't ride a bike or walk very far.
