What should each meal and snack include?

Like breakfast should be a protein, carb and fruit... Something like that. For 3 meals and 1 snack.

  • All of my meals have a protein (meat) a starch (potatoes, pasta, rice) and a veggie.
    Most of our snacks are fruits or veggies. Of course the occasional sweet or dessert is welcome.

  • As long as you're getting the appropriate amount of servings from each food group, it doesn't matter what meal they are in. However, I do find it a little easier to eat fruit in the morning than a vegetable.

  • you should just make sure you are eating all of your food groups daily. Split it up accordingly

  • It's a good idea to get at least SOME lean protein into your snack, too, like some Wasa crackers with hummus or a hard boiled egg or plain Greek yogurt with fresh fruit. From there, just make sure you're following the food pyramid, and get a good balance of whole grains, fruits, veggies, dairy, and lean proteins. You can go to to get good info that is current.
