Do you think that Cam Newton should be allowed to a candidate for the Heisman?

Heisman candidate Cam Newton was allowed to play in the Southeastern Conference title game on Dec. 4, and is eligible for any Bowl Championship Series game in late December or early January, the NCAA announced on Nov. 30.

The NCAA cleared the Auburn University quarterback of receiving improper benefits, according to the Associated Press, despite finding that Newton’s father, Cecil, illegally negotiated a “pay-for-play” deal with another school before his son decided to go to Auburn.

Cam Newton and Auburn are clear because the NCAA cannot prove that either was aware of Cecil’s actions.

  • No. It was confirmed his dad attempted to negotiotate a deal at another school. But the info gets fuzzy when asked specifics about Auburn. Looks like another Reggie Bush moment.

  • Nope and it really irks me that they let him play too!! They are pretty much telling people, ok go out and have your parents get the money but make sure you don't know anything about it or that they can't prove that you know!! NO ONE in the family should be recieving money or other compensation. Even if his dad didn't get any money, he was still looking for it.
