Are slow fe iron supplements suppossed to make you tired and groggy?

  • No, they should give you more energy. However, PREGNANCY will make you tired and groggy! Mention it to yoir doc, but don't stop taking the iron supplements.

  • not sure i was always sleepy while pregnant! i was taking those pills but i could never take a poop (sorry tmi)! i thought i was silly i have low iron but i cant take a crap to save my life! i had to take merolax (sp) just so i could but they made me gassy! oh the joys of being pregnant! i stopped talking the pills around 7months since they caused to many problems!! if they are bothering u check with ur OB next time! good luck! sorry for the TMI! :-)

    If you meant are Iron Supplements supposed to make you tired or groggy then no. If anything they should actually give you more enegry as they raise Iron levels.

    Low Iron itself CAN make you VERY tired, groggy and weak.

  • BTW, low Fe iron supplements is kind of an oxymoron, as Fe is the symbol for iron. What is the dose?

  • i get dizzy and sleepy right after i take the pill..its very irriating!
