  • Okay...the Mayan Calendar has an ending date - in 2012...not 2011. But the world isn't predicted to end on any specific date. It will continue on for many many years to come.

  • It has to do with the Mayan calandar ending in December 2012. Because the calandar doesn't continue some people think the world will end on that date. But, here is the thing, the people saying this aren't edcuated on the subject. The Mayan calandar is cyclical. When the calandar ends, it just starts over again.

The world is going to end in 4 billion years when the sun turns into a red giant and not before.

  • I bet the Mayans were sitting around one day and someone said, "hey, lets stop the calendar in 2012 to freak everyonein the future out".

No, I don't think the world is ending.

  • You said you were raised Catholic .. the bible says noone will be able to predict the end of the world. Hopefully, that helps :) .. I think it's silly all these ppl keep trying to predict it. What are they trying to predict it for? So if they actually were right they can stand in front of us in the after life and say "I told you so". People need a hobby lol.

  • Only God knows the hour. But prophecy is being fulfilled as we speak. (Revelations)

  • this is what the bible states:

    Mark 13:32

32"But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.

  • Well, that's very wishful thinking, but do you know there are really people who did that kind of stuff before 2000? Some people actually took out all the money they could from the ATM. LOL!

I don't really think, however, that there's going to be a date we can post on the calendar for that one.
