how to sto diaherria

My 1 and a half year has had diaherria for 5 days now. Nothing that I have tried helps end it. He doesnt want to eat like he shold. I have tried to have him drink less. But still his bms are really runny. Any ideas! His dr said that is should stop on its own.

  • Its not healthy to stop it. If he's not dehydrated,he'll be just fine. Don't limit fluids,give him MORE!

  • well first of all DONTstop giving fluids, ever. and second yogurt and accidophilus milk always help.

  • Have you tried not giving any dairy? my twins had constant diarrhea until I found out they were allergic to milk.

  • We always went to popsicles, jello, gingerale, saltines, bananas when our kids had this or vomiting.

  • He should drink more, not less. He needs to replenish the fluid he is loosing. Try bananas, rice, apple juice and toast (BRAT).

  • keep giving him liquids, of course.....try burned toast...or scraping the burned parts into a drink or something to make sure he gets it..it acts as some sort of absorber or something and stops the diarhea..it was on the doctors one day..good luck!
