Painted nails

So, my DD is 2...and she sees me painting my fingernails. Of course, she wants her painted, so I painted hers the same color as mine.

My DH freaks out. Do you think it's really that big of a deal?

  • NO I don't!! That seems like a very silly thing to freak out about.... I've done it and my DD is 21 months!

  • I was an only parent with my DS and even he wanted his nails painted. As long as its a subtle color I dont see a problem.

  • why did he freak out? What was his argument? I don't understand why anyone would be upset over that-little girls love to feel pretty and like to be like mommy.

  • He just thinks that she's too young to have her fingernails painted. She is so excited to have them painted, she just goes around saying "sooo pretty".
I find no harm in it.

  • there's really no 'harm', but there are chemicals in nail polish you wouldn't want her to ingest, so if she a hand in mouth kid, I would go get the tinkerbell stuff.

  • I see absolutely no harm in it-she is 2 its not like you are encouraging your teen to internet date or something-he needs to just chill out and not be so old fashioned!
