Roast beef for Christmas

My oldest son wants roast beef for Christmas dinner. I have always had turkey or ham. I don't know about roast beef. What do you all think? What do you normally have for Christmas dinner.

  • We used to switch it up but we've settled on Roast Prime Rid and herbed Yorkshire Puddings with Horseradish Creme Fraiche and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. There's always brussels sprouts and/or some other veg and gravy. Then my husband makes Molten Chocolate Cakes with vanilla ice cream for dessert. We buy an entire rib and rotisserie it on the bbq. No one want's to change the tradition now.

  • Who cares what you "normally" have. It is always a good time to make new traditions. Our Christmas dinner has different - Turkey, Ham, Pork Loin, Peel and Eat Shrimp, Steak, Standing Rib Roast, all sorts of things.

  • Yes, I make prime rib and a goose. I get the prime rib at Costco and it is wonderful. If you want the recipe send me a message, I am happy to share it.

Does he request roast beef because of the grinch movie I am wondering? ..."They'll eat their Who-Pudding and rare Who-Roast Beast" LOL

  • Sounds like a great idea to me. Actually, I may see if my parents want to have roast beef instead of ham.
