  • I live in Florida and hadn't heard of it before. It is probably like all the other springs down here. Cool to cold freshwater, an abundance of marine life and usually some good hiking trails you can check out as well. While I haven't been to this one specifically I have been to others and I love it. It is awesome during the hottest days of summer when nothing else can cool you off. I highly recommend going.

If you go there, you should see Silver Springs......where they have the glass bottom boats. Not sure what it costs now, but it is a pretty place.

Funny how none of those places I linked......mention  **ALLIGATORS!! **

I'd be terrified of them along with water moccasin snakes! So you can see I'm not the outdoorsy  walk in the woods, let's wear our snake boots kinda  gal! LOL

I'd call and ask any of those places listed that have a number and get info.....from canoeing to camping.

  • Yeah, some of the springs have alligators but they don't tend to mess with people and they are kept out of the swimming areas.
