caring for an uncircumcised penis? adult content

sorry this is my first boy :) my sister's son got so many infections that at about one year old they had to get him circumcised.
so, one nurse in the hospital told me to pull the skin back when bathing him and clean, another nurse said not to do it at all right now bc it's too sensitive.
?? any help??

  • You can't pull it back until it separates. After that, you need to pull back foreskin at least twice a day and wash.

  • My son is also uncircumcised and a lot of people have been really negative towards me about it. They say medicaid doesn't pay for it anymore and i didn't have the money to get it done.

  • You have to ease it down, if you don't that is when you can have problems,
I put olive oil on a q-tip that helps ease it down,
don't put too much on, or you won't be able to push it back, I do this before his bath.
and you have to clean it every day till he's old enough to clean himself.

  • You don't do anything. My son is not circumcised and there is no special way to care for it. You do NOT pull the skin back - that's what causes infections!! You wash it like you'd wash any other body part and leave it alone until it separates on it's on around puberty. After that you can clean underneath the foreskin during a bath or shower or whatever but by then he should be doing it on his own..

  • Until its able to retract on its own (usually between 2-5) you do NOT pull it back at all. The foreskin is attached like a fingernail - in other words, completely. Until it retracts on its own, you wash it like you would anything else. Just wipe and go. It needs no special care.
