  • I tell them straight out that if I need advice I'll ask for it.

  • "Thanks, I'll keep that in mind" with no real intetion of doing so.

  • I just say, "Thank you, that's very interesting". No reason to stretch those conversations out.

  • You say to each his own and I believe I know what is best for mine.

  • I would be polite, but let them know I don't really need their advice, so that they don't continue to be so forthcoming with it.

  • I would say, "Thanks for the advice, but I have this under control. However, I know now if I do have a question that you have good advice to offer."

  • I usually do what Skittles and Dr. Donna are saying, and then just pretty much ignore it later. I keep getting rude comments and advice from the same lady though, so I need to get my point across without being too rude. Next time she asks me a question or brings up my son, I was thinking I will just say "I'm not willing to discuss him with you anymore."

  • Tell her that he is your son and you will raise him the way you see fit.

Answer by sweet29mom at 1:02 PM on Dec. 9, 2010

  • I say thank you but I am doing just fine on my own.

Answer by LiLJeni at 1:31 PM on Dec. 9, 2010

  • I usually just respond with what works for myself and my family. If they continue I just bite my tongue usually, unless needed otherwise.
