How to cook cabbage. What seasonings do you use?

  • par-boil it, then finish cooking it in butter (fry, saute, whatever), add salt and pepper.

  • AGHHH boiled cabbage...yucko! lol

    From the south we fry ours in bacon grease.
    Cook about half a package of bacon, pull out bacon and set to the side. Keep grease hot and chop your cabbage into it and cover. It sort of steams it and gives it an AWESOME bacony flavor. Dont cook it too long or it gets mushy. After done crumble bacon back into it and serve. :-)

  • I don't cook cabbage alone - so it is seasoned by whatever it's with. Usually, it's in with an Asian dish or a beef roast.
