In my son's catholic school in religion class my son was taught that Adam and Eve did not exist. What are your thoughts?

  • We were taught about them in school and believed they were real. However, in high school our teacher, that was also a priest, said that they were made up to teach a lesson. Therefore being a myth. Not sure what to believe but thats what I was also taught

  • "Facts" and "Bible" aren't exactly something that goes together.

  • My kids go to catholic bible class. That is the first for me. Maybe he just misunderstood. Or possibly someone who just doesn't know what they are talking about.

  • there's no proof otherwise that they existed as human beings. The story and many other religious stories are not meant to be taken literaly, more as stories to teach a lesson or given a moral.

  • How old is he? I mean did he miss some details in relaying this lesson or misunderstand something that was said? I find it odd a Catholic Bible class would teach Adam and Eve were not real...

  • Wow...I would have a huge problem with that. Are you sure your son heard right? I would call and talk to the teacher...

  • If it were my son and I wanted him to be taught all real facts from the Bible I would pull him out of the school asap. If you leave him in there he's going to be way confused and probably not beleive any part of Christianity.
