When you start to see flakes? Seeing the bristles get dry? Boredom of its performance? And as long as we're talking mascara, what is your favorite?

  • My favorite is by BeautiControl, it's the volumizing waterproof one. I usually run out before it dries out but if I don't I toss it when it gets dry and clumpy.

  • It's been 6 months since I opened it. It goes. For the sake of bacteria. I use CoverGirl Lash Exact Waterproof mascara.

  • If it's clumpy, it's time to toss it. That usually happens long before the 6 months are up. My favorite is Maybelline Full & Soft. It flakes off on my cheeks way less than anything else I've tried.

  • I believe it's every 3 months you are supposed to chuck it.

  • I woud say about every 3 months too. I use Real Purity Mascara because of my sensitive eyes and it doesn't clump at all.

  • If my teenagers get into it, I toss it immediately.
I use a waterproof, soap and water washable mascara in brown/black.
The container is purple, but I can't remember the brand. I just look for the right color of container at the cosmetics counter.
