Anyone else dealing with a 2-year-old with reflux?

My daughter is 2 and a half years old and has struggled with reflux since she was one month old. We recently weaned her from her Prevacid about 6 weeks and she was symptom free for about 3-4 weeks. Now she is beginning to show signs of frequent refluxing so we just put her back on her meds. The doc. wants to send her for an endoscopy to look for allergies or other issues. Has anyone else gone through this?? She has also had a stuffy nose since we took her off her meds, do you think that could be related to reflux?

  • My friend's baby has terrible reflux. While i didn't face her chanllenges first hand, you have my sympathy. Her doctor suggested the same thing because her child also continues to throw up a lot. But her child is not screaming with pain anymore as she did as a newborn. Does yours? If not you may consider waiting to see if your child grows out of as provided she maintains a healthy weight. If she keeps enough inside her to maintain an acceptable weight you may wish to forgo furthur treatments and tests for the time being.
