is there such a thing as chronic hiccuping?

my 2 mth old hiccups A LOT, after feedings or just randomly. he did hiccup when he was in the womb. but i just want to make sure its not hurting him and wont cause any damage...

  • Nah, your baby will be fine. Mine hiccuped since I was 5 months pregnant, and only recently stopped doing it ALL the time (she is 6 months old).

    As far as hurting them or causing, no. Kaylee would yell every once in a while if she had had them for a couple hours, but only out of frustration! lol.

  • Very normal for a new baby. Nothing to worry about. It could be related to gas, so if he also seems gassy or uncomfortable try mylicon drops.

  • yea their is but it is only when the hiccups become severe (like were the are seconds apart and lasting for days) which shouldnt happen to your baby not by a long shot. My day had to go to the hospital for hiccups one time lol he had them for 3 days
