what to give a 5.5 year old for constipation?

she is having trouble going to the bathroom and I am not sure what to give her to make her go. She is very picky so I know she wont drink prune juice. What else can I give her?

  • grape juice or crap/grape juice

    also try corn and a few spoonfulls of karo syrup or molasses

  • Lots of water, add cinnamon to her oatmeal (buy non-instant whole grain hot cereal) and direct her to fruits and veggies that are high in fiber.

  • If you're looking for something other than food, try a suppository. You can buy them OTC. Also, ask your pharmacist what he recommends. They have tons of knowledge when it comes to this kind of stuff and their advice is free. :)

  • Very warm water with brown sugar mixed into it. Used it on my babies and worked well.
