Does scaring from past surgeries(not related to the reproductive system) effect pregnancy

  • It shouldn't. I have a scar on my belly button from a laproscopy and it didn't do anything while I was pregnant except it grew a little. You should have no problem.

  • It can. My twins had less space than normal because scarring from abdominal surgery was deep (long scar, not laproscopic). I thought it was going to open up toward the end of the pregnancy...it was looking very stretched thin. I did not have that nice basketball belly, but looked kind of lopsided because they couldn't stretch to the lower right side of my belly.

  • I think that it depends on where it is. I would talk to your doc about it.
