  • My son qualifies for it but I still prefer him not to be on it. I don't look down on anyone who uses it but I'm more comfortable putting him on my more expensive health plan to keep him at a nicer clinic with the doctor he's seen since birth.

  • yes and i don't think either way it should be looked down on only for the fact as long as the child is getting taken care of...

  • @Lynnsae, I agree with you, I don't think it should matter what kind of insurance they have as long as they are been taken care.

  • My daughter was on Medicaid for two years while I was single and in college full time. She's been on my husband's insurance since. The only time I would look down on someone for using Medicaid would be if they were purposely using the system (which I would only know if they openly announced it, which has never happened, so this is hypothetical). I think that all public assistance is there for a reason, for people to use when they need it. I needed medicaid and WIC while I was in school, now we could qualify for WIC but we don't need it, so we don't.

  • My daughter has medicaid. I've never felt like others judged me because of it.

  • All 5 of my kids have insurance through my husband's work. My oldest also has medicaid due to a disability, it covers his copays.
