Why is it when my 6 mo. old wakes up that he pukes after eating?

It isn't spit up, because it is projectile like... and there is no fever, no signs of him feeling sickly, or anything. He sleeps through the night already, and when he wakes up, he is hungry so I nurse him. He has been exclusively BF all his life, but when he wakes up, and after he eats, he soon pukes... is it because he eats too much? I would appreciate your help if you guys have maybe gone through this or know what is going on... He only does it directly after he has eaten in the morning... and is fine the rest of the day... Thanks for your help....!

  • Gas buildup during his sleep. Try and burp him prior to feeding. Walk around with him, gently bounce him & gently pat his back to get the gas out. Then burp him again before he is done nursing.
