How else can I advertise my babysitting services?

I've had a profile on sittercity for about 3 weeks now. No one has answered, what else can I do?

  • Make some business cards (free on vistaprint.com) and put them on bulletin boards everywhere, at coffee houses, the library, health food stores. See if local pediatricians will let you put them in their waiting rooms, find Mommy and Me classes and leave some of your cards with them. At Gymborie and park and rec centers, etc.
Best of luck to you, put yourself out there and make it happen.

  • Set up a Merchant Circle page, set up a profile on Care.com, join Linkedin and advertise your services in a group dedicated to your local area, advertise in your local area group here on Cafemom, leave marketing materials the places moms go.

  • Word of mouth! Tell your postman, your hairdresser, your dentist or hygienist, the clerk at the corner store. lol Seriously, I have never had much problem filling a spot by word of mouth. :)

  • In addition to everyone else's suggestions look into local moms groups in your area, such as one by The Mommies Network or Moms Like Me, advertise there. If there is a local family magazine advertise in that, get free post cards at vistaprint and leave them on bulletin boards and such
