Do you put up the candles in each window?

Is there a meaning to them by putting them up in each window? Or is it just to decorate the window? I have always wondered about this. Thanks

  • I do. It's a part of our Yule Celebration. It dates back (as far as I know) to Celtic Solstice traditions, as a way to light the night and welcome the Sun the following day...

  • I always thought they were just meant to be pretty.

But I dont put them up anymore b/c they burnt one of my shades one time....not badly...it would not have burned the house down or anything...just turned that spot brown and ugly.

  • I do not do it, but I do believe that some people do it for a certain meaning. I do not remember what it is though.
