If you mean English like people who live in England than your husband is not right. Bitch is offensive anyway. It means you keep going on and on something that you shouldn't. Bitching is like moaning in the high-school slang. Nowadays the youth chevs (young, under-educated, show off teenagers) tells to each other especially school-aged ones just for fun. But I don't think your husband thought that meaning. I live in England and that word is not nice at all in any conversation. So I would be offended if my SO would use this word to mark me with it any time. Ask him, that what does the bitch mean in English in England. I wonder what he would say. Keep me posted:D
