Is SSI and SSDI taxable?

My husband gets SSI and he did get back pay SSDI so is that considerd Earned Income? If not i did Baby sitting got paid cash can i claim that and what information do i have to give if any of the family i sat for?

  • Taxes are based on your total income, including SS, and your deductions.
    If the parent is deducting babysitting fees, you better report the income.

  • Ssi and ssdi are not taxable. As far as your babysitting, check with the people to see if they are reporting it, yiou will need their ss number to repoet it on your end

  • You have to file taxes every year even if you only get SSI. My MIL has been on this for eons and we have to take her every year to get her taxes done.
