  • No. A vasectomy makes all his little soldiers blank. It's rare for one to get pregnant after a man had had a vasectomy and a zero count come back on a check up

  • I may be wrong...but I think you need some protection for a limited amount of time right after he has it done...then later no.. you don't need to use other types of birth control.

  • no...Thats what the vasectomy is for. Now before taking it out be sure all is good with the vasectomy. I have the Mirene then he had a vasectomy. I need to have it removed just haven't been able to go yet.

  • Yep just read here online that immediately after a man has that done..there can still be live sperm in there for up to two weeks later...

  • he has to clear out his swimmers first (I think it's like 20 sexual encounters after the proceedure) then they check his sperm count to make sure it's at 0 then you are home free...

  • cochise is right. Kept using other protection till he gets a zero count back from he's follow up appointments
