  • I agree when your child starts showing interest. If you think they might be ready it doesn't hurt to try, although don't push to hard because it could back fire on you.

    Good Luck!

  • i started introducing the potty at a 2, but didn't pressure my children to go potty until after they showed interest. Pressure is when I roll up my sleeves and say "okay here we go" not actual pressure pressure. My daughter was potty trained when she was about 38 months old, my son is just now getting it and has been accident free for 2 weeks now, and he'll be 4 in a couple of days. My step-daughter was trained by the time she was 3 and my step-son was 3.5 when he was trained, but he regressed when his mother took him out of our home.

  • Both of mine showed an interest around 16-17 months. DS was not fully potty trained until he was 37 months, but DD was 22 months. Girls are much easier to pt than boys and you can't rush them if they're not ready.

  • We do elimination communication. We started introducing the potty at 3 months. We only do it part time. DD is 6 months old now. She goes in the potty 3-5 times a day.

  • When they are ready. My son potty trained himself at 3 years and 2 months. He had it down completely after a week.

  • We did it officially at 25 months. We had great success using the 3 day method. It was AWESOME!!! DS had been showing interest for a long time, but that was the first opportunity where we had 3 days we could totally devote to potty training.

  • When they are ready. Do not do it any sooner or they can become self conscience about themselves.

  • My eldest was 5 (special needs). His Brother is 3 and is just now going regularly (no bm yet) for about 3 days. We introduced it at 18 months, but he was never interested! I have friends who had boys who trained faster, I guess my boys are slow starters.
