Stretching while the muscles are warm (meaning before icing), Ice x 20 minutes several times a day, and take some ibuprofen for a day or two.

Sleep without a pillow. If your skin isn't too sensitive, the Salonpas or anything like it (medicated sticky pads) work wonders. I've used 3 of those medicated pads at once on my neck before and it worked great. They are cheap too.
