I buy a (roughly) $22 turkey (22 lbs - roughly a dollar a pound, depending) to feed about 15 people. Stuffing maybe costs $3 between the butter, breadcrumbs and veggies. A couple of vegetable side dishes - call it another $10-$15, including stock, cream, butter, any spices you don't have, etc. Dessert - a pie shouldn't cost more than $5 to make, presuming you have all the spices. It's when you have to restock your spice cabinet that this stuff gets pricey!
So what is that? $50-$75 for 15 people? Have someone else bring appetizers, wine and sodas.
