Greenbeans barely cooked-still crisp, or Southern style with fatback cooked for hours?

  • depends on what youre diet preference is. Southern style has more flavor with the fatback added but also adds additional sodium,fat and my be slighty overcooked. If youre alittle more health concious then you should go with greens cooked to al dente(still crisp). Best of both worlds..... cooked green beans until done but crispy, add chopped bacon,onion and garlic and stir-fry them with your beans. You'll have the flavor of bacon but your beans wont be over cooked. Either way it'll be yummy:) (ex culinary student)

  • crisp. im not a fan of green beans in the first place, but the Southern style has always made me feel so heavy (and its the way my mom makes them...forced to eat them growing up).

    i really like them ever had TGIFridays? they are amazing!
