  • No but they ask you to before hand so that if there is a complication durring labor and you need a c-section it is already removed so that you do not have to waste time in removing them later. I would just take it out on the way to the hospital and after you have your little one then put it back in.

  • No, even the women I know who have had c-sections never had to remove their piercings which were "above the belt" but I do know they asked that my one friend removed her clit bar...

  • actually, i take that back. i was asked to remove all of my jewelry, earrings, rings, necklace, bracelets when i went into labor with my children. so yes they might ask you.

  • They asked me to remove all jewelry except my wedding rings. I was ok with this b/c if smtg (God forbid) were to go wrong they dont want to waste time trying to remove necklaces, earrings, lip rings (in your case), etc.

  • Yes. I had a tongue ring when I was pregnant with my dd and when I went into labor the doctor told me to take it out. I took it out and never put it back in.
