  • "More independent"? At all ages. They learn, one small thing at a time, to do things for themselves and to do things on their own. It's a process, from birth until - well, often mid 20's and beyond!

  • Depends on the kid. I have a child who would be more than happy to do everything by himself, and his older brother would prefer to do nothing without mom or dad... It all depends on the kid.

  • My 4 year old proved he can use a microwave all by himself last week. He was sneaky and cooked a bunch of corndogs one min at a time. lol

  • It is a totally individual thing. Speaking as a teacher now, I have found interestingly enough that birth order makes a big difference. My students who were the first-born with a sibling(s) were much more likely to be independent and willing to try new things. Only children could go either way depending on the way they were treated at home.

  • My two year old has started showing her independents... She goes to her room and i was following her to play with her and she looked at me and said no and closed her door she wanted to play by herself im with her 24 7 365 so i guess she gets tierd of me. She wants to clean up her mess she dont wont me to MORE POWER TO THAT LOL....
