  • When you need to go potty, bring her in their and let her see you do it. Tell her "mommy need to go potty"

  • Is the seat cold? It really could be that simple.

  • Maybe it is cold we are using a little kid potty. when she was sitting there we all started praising her for sitting there. and then her brother sat on the big potty to show her how to do it. lol it was cute but she seems terrified. I never had the terrifing aspect to potty training before. the boys were bored with it but not scared

  • my middle daughter was the same way when we first started putting her on the potty. she'd scream bloody murder lol. now she just turned 2 and she's fine sitting on it, although we have yet to have any success :) maybe she just has to get used to it like mine did.

  • Then I would back off for a few months and try again. Don't even talk about the potty for a while, then a couple of weeks before you try again, start reading books about using the potty and talking about how big girls use the potty. the tell her that soon she will be a big girl and use the potty too. I also like louise2's suggestion of letting her see you go, and talking to her about why you go potty and how you go. Then it is less scary. Also we always say goodbye to the pee and poop. it sounds weird, but it works.

  • Give it a break. Come back to the potty in a week or two. It isn't going anywhere.

  • she's not ready. Take her in the bathroom with you when you go to the bathroom and let her play so that she gets used to being in the bathroom, that way she doesn't fear it. When you go to flush, warn her so she can cover her ears and not be scared of the sound. Introduce her to the bathroom slowly, get her her own potty chair and let it be in another room (you'll have to make sure that you keep it clean and out of sight for when company comes over) becasue sometimes not being able to touch their feet to the floor can scare a child into not wanting to go potty.
