  • I don't focus so much on how much I spend on any one person. My husband and I heard a simple little poem several years ago and have made it our Christmas/birthday...motto:

    Something they want
    Something they need
    Something to wear
    Something to read

They get one or two things in each category and then something from Santa. I often gather things throughout the year, so in October we talk about what I've already got and what I still need to get. We estimate the cost and plan accordingly.

  • There are women on this site who are on welfare and women who are making in the mid 6 figures (maybe more). I think this is too open a question. Obviously you are going to get a HUGE variety of answers depending on the income of the woman answering.

  • I spend and will always spend the same amount or close to the same amount on both of my kids no matter the age... and is usually atleast a few hundred each ...

If I could I would hope to have more money by the time they are that age, because at 14, kids usually just want the expensive electronics and such...which mean less gifts but more money..
