What is the best way to make tostada shells?

I have soft corn tortillas that I want to make tostada shells from. Is it better to do it on the stove with oil like I was taught, or is it better to do it in the oven? Is there a different way that I'm not aware of?

  • I've heard of putting them into an ovensafe metal bowl (if you want them shaped) or just flat on a cookie sheet, spray with cooking spray (I use a Misto and regular oil), and bake at 400 until they're crisp, but not too browned.

  • I have not made them, never thought about doing them in the oven.
