Are heating pads OK to use during pregnancy?

  • First of all, where are you using it? On the tummy, then it is probably not a good idea. But I developed severe back pain with my first pregnancy so with my second pregnancy I used a heating pad everyday for my back pain. My doctor never said it was bad because it was on my back.

  • Where did you want to use the heating pad? If you have one that has the temp setting then it is fine. I used one through my whole pregnancy because i had bad back pain but i couldnt use it on the high setting because I was told my temp would get a little to warm.

  • it depends on where you are using it...on the back is fine for a short time.
