If your baby kicks only your pelvis and not your ribs, does it mean that she's breech?

I'm 26 weeks.

  • NO! Your baby will twist and turn up until it settlings in to be born.

  • The baby doesn't turn until the third trimester and I don't think the kicking you are feeling is an indicator that the baby is in the wrong position for the number of weeks pregnant you are.

  • That baby will be an acrobat for quite awhile and will be moving all around.

  • Youve got plenty of time for that baby to turn around

  • He could be feet down, but I wouldn't use the word "breech" yet. That can be a scary word meaning a baby who is feet down at time of birth. My friend is 35 weeks and her baby just turned head down. Again! :)

  • When I was around that baby felt like she was kicking directly into my vagina....turns out...she was breech....but now at 32 weeks....she is constantly kicking under my right rib cage...I asked the Dr if she thought I was right about her moving and with her doppler and feeling with her hands she is fairly sure I am right that my baby has moved head down....

  • Go to and check out belly mapping. It teaches you how to tell what position your baby is in. And remember that babies will flip and flop a lot; especially this early.
