  • I'm by no means a fertility expert. With that said.

I doubt that his coffee intake has much to do with interfering with/preventing conception.

  • I found this: http://www.babyzone.com/preconception/getting_pregnant/article/caffeine-and-fertility

It says it affects women, but couldn't find anything on men. How is your caffeine intake? You could be taking in more than you realize.

  • 3 cups a day is bad. Did another search and here is what I found: Quality
To successfully fertilize an egg, at least one-third of your sperm should be healthy and normal, according to the Mayo Clinic. Drinking just three cups of coffee a day can cause genetic mutations in sperm that can make it harder for them to successfully penetrate an egg---and that can increase the risk of miscarriage and birth defects if pregnancy is successful.

  • There have been Danish studies that conclude that the caffeine intake affects MEN as well as women in fertility issues. It makes the sperm less mobile in men.

  • According to research, in some cases caffeine can help increase male fertility. If the sperm count is low, caffeine may help increase the number of sperm. If your count is normal, caffeine may decrease the number of sperm. http://www.blogher.com/caffeine-may-help-male-fertility

Also wait a day or two between sex to help increase sperm production.
