Why do you vote down....

Why do you vote down stuff that isn't even mean, just because it's not your point of view? If someone asks for advice, they obviously expect different perspectives. Do you automatically get click happy just because someone has a different point of view than you do?

  • I don't vote down because it does not really make sense to me. I ask a question and I try to respect people's opinions. I either vote up or bump, but not vote down.

  • I will be honest and fess up that I have voted down on a debate question before. Never for a serious question asking for advice, but a few of the political questions. I feel a relief being able to click that thumbs down button and go "GAH!!! Teaches you to have a different opinon than me!" lol. I never get offended if someone bumps my answer down though. It's all in fair and fun debate.

  • No I vote down if they dont answer the question asked and they do it in a nasty 'I'm holier than thou' way.

  • I simply stated how I did something on another post cause the mother was asking how she should do something and I got like 5 vote downs. I even said the doctor had told me to do it that way!

  • I don't think I have ever voted anyone down. I usually don't do any vote ups either. I just answer the questions where I think I might be able to help someone and I leave it at that.

  • I vote down when someone gives piss-poor advice, like "my 8 month old baby is coughing a lot, what should I do" "give it cough syrup". Crap like that that is just plain wrong!

  • it's not judgmental! It actually happened. If it does not apply to you than move along.
