What happens first thing on Christmas morning at your house.

At mine, kids were always allowed to look in their stocking, but not wake us up before 7am.

  • Reading through the answers above me, I miss those crazy mornings when the kids were little. Now mine are all teens and no one gets up early anymore. Usually I'm up for an hour or more before anyone else stirs.

  • The kids used to take a peak at the tree then jump in our bed. We would do stockings, have a little something to eat, then do gifts and spend the entire morning relaxing together.

  • We'll this is our first official christmas where my 3 year old knows about Santa. But i was thinking stockings, breakfast, presents, then off to the grandparents house for more presents and lunch!

  • This is our first real Christmas (with a child who kind of understands) on our own. The first year the little one wasn't really sure what was going on, and we ran all over to see family. Last year we were staying with family, so this year is the first year we're going to wake up in our own home and actually be able to do something. I'm so excited!

We're going to get up early, make cinnamon rolls, turn on some Christmas music, get everything finished up (presents will be wrapped the night before, while we eat cookies *wink*), set up the video camera, etc, and then we'll go get the boy. We'll have breakfast, he'll open the few presents, and we'll get ready to head to my mom's (In laws are coming Christmas Eve, so that'll help). The kid and I will probably stay at my mom's for a few days, and have them bring us back on his birthday (the 29th) and we'll have his "party". :)
