WHY do so many people think that Obama's tax plan calls for a hand out?

He has repeated himself OVER and OVER that he'll use that revenue to improve healthcare and education.... improvements good for everyone no matter WHO you are. How does that translate into a "handout"? Is it because the media has dubbed it as "spreading the wealth"? Many Americans may get an Emergency Energy Rebate but that is not for the unemployed. It is for the middle class.... WORKING families. So please explain.... exactly where is the supposed information on a "handout"?

You can read about his proposed policies here.... http://change.gov/

  • The revenue Obama is planning to raise from the $250,000 and over group. Spreading the wealth came from Obama and his talk with Joe the Plumber. Now, he said the words, it was his mouth, it was his body and it was on camera. Since that time the figure of $250,000 has come down to $120,000. I don't really believe anyone sees some kind of "handout". The very people that need help, the elderly, poor, disabled, children, the unemployed, will not really see a thing to help them. Just the middle class. As Obama stated. And, before we go off on Joe the Plumber. He is a working man, works for someone else with the dream of buying and owning his own business. Just like millions of other americans. The answer that Obama gave is one that would affect any person that is wanting to go into business for themselves.

No... since obviously we ALL use the healthcare system and we ALL use the education system. Better schools/teachers and improved, more affordable healthcare will benefit EVERYONE. Look at it this way..... the wealthy will have access to cheaper healthcare as will the middle class and lower middle class. ANYONE can purchase it... OR you can keep your own if you're happy with it. I STILL haven't talked to ONE PERSON that's happy with their insurance but hey.. if ya wanna keep it.. you'll have the option to keep it.

  • Oh, for pete's sake. A handout is when you give people a refund/rebate even though they don't PAY ANY TAXES TO BEGIN WITH. Close to 40% of people don't pay these taxes and their getting money?!?

  • The media hasn't dubbed it anything...BO HIMSELF used the words "spread the wealth around". The so-called media is his #1 fan.

hmmmm... well.. I suppose it's possible they may get the Emergency Energy Rebate... but not if it works the same way as the stimulus checks did. People with non-taxable income (welfare, disability) couldn't get the stimulus bc you had to file a return in order to get it.
