What does this mean?

Safe in breast-feeding although it may suppress lactation.

and this: Thiazides may affect the smooth muscle of uterus and inhibit labor.


I was looking at safefetus.com to see if my blood pressure medicine was okay during pregnancy and this is what it said for B/F.

  • It won't be bad for the baby, or won't go into your milk, but you may struggle to produce enough milk.

    Might not be able to go into labor on your own?

  • It means your milk production might not be what it should and you may need to be induced or have a c-section

  • I would ask my doctor if there was another medication that could be taken while pregnant and BFing. There a a LOT of different BP meds. Maybe another one will work well for you.
