  • If you ask the doctor they would say no. You are supposed ot wait until they are 6 months old. With my 3rd child I started her on watered down ceral at 3 months old. She cried all the time and I felt she needed it. With that said I would not start with baby food at all. If you feel she needs more then I would contact the doctor.

    Good Luck!

  • no. it's great that she's sitting up but the digestive system isn't developed enough to handle solid foods at this age!

  • Sitting up? As in with a little support, or on the floor with nothing around her, reaching for toys & not toppling over? Either way, NO.

  • My doctor said cereal was ok at four months of age. I always started then.

  • you should feed her when you feel she is ready. that being said, sitting up isn't the only "cue" that she's ready for food. wait another month and try feeding her rice cereal off of a SPOON. at 3 months, she probably still has the tongue reflex where she will push the spoon out even if you tried to feed her now.

  • why would you even have her try to sit up by herself this early? That's just dangerous. If she fell over she could get hurt really bad. Please don't try to rush her development. There is no hurry. No race to beat other kids. Keep her safe from harm
