This shows how to make a large picture for cheap.

Make sure you declutter. Put a throw on the back of the couch, lamp on the end table, paint can help any room.

  • New throw pillows for the couch. Flameless (battery powered) candles. Are there drapes or just blinds on the windows? So many great drapes at the goodwill stores. Good luck.

  • I have always loved framed children' s art. You pick the frames that best match your living room and each of your children gets one frame to display there art. (To prevent/limit the fighting make sure all frames are the same size and style).
You can pick up frames even at the dollar store.

  • Plants, preferably real, but fake would be ok. I also like a floor lamp in a corner.

  • A wall of family pictures in various sizes--you can buy clearance frames and spray paint them any color that coordinates with your decor--arrange them to your liking--I like when they are ALL black and white with white matting and black frames--clean and neat looking.

Look for clearance toss pillows at places like JC Penney, and coordinate the rest of your decor around them. Look on Ebay for MUCH cheaper, quality slip covers (SureFit brand) for your furniture to "jazz" things up!

  • Bright colored toss pillows, and family photos or a pretty framed print that you like.
