Screaming baby... any idea why?

My daughter has been streaming bloody murder at us for about a week now.. the first day we went through everything to figure out why and came up with nothing.. after about two days we figured out she might be teething... but i'm still not really sure. The only thing she wants to chew on is her hand... no cold teething ring, no Binky... nothing. She doesn't have a fever or anything and sometimes she's perfectly fine then just screams.... is it teething or could it be something else?

  • Did her diet recently change? My son only screams if I eat too much dairy. Some babies don't tolerate whey or dairy proteins very well, so if you're breastfeeding it might be something you're eating, if you're formula feeding it could be the formula, if you're giving solids it could be something you fed her.

  • Yep most likely teething, mine never had a fever either. try some of those bath toys that squirt water. They're really soft and that was the only thing my kids would chew on besides their hands.

  • could be teething, could also be an ear infection or gas

  • my son never ran a fever when he was teething trying taking a washcloth and put applejuice and water on it role it up in a bag and put it in the freezer. After a few let her chew on it good tastying and will help my doctor also said there is nothing wrong with giving them a popsicle. I would still take ur child to the doctor b/c she could have an ear infection which could cause lots of pain. look in ur childs mouth its usually the bottom front teeth that come in first and see if the gums are swollen

  • Have you checked with your doctor? Babies that small sometimes cry when they hurt, like an earache. It could be either.....teething or something else.
