  • not much into scripture
but i do know when i was married years ago, i prayed very hard for my marriage to work
and it did not, i was mad at God
but he did answer my prayer by making marriage finally end
he was not a good person
sometimes what you pray for is not best for you

God knew that lack of husbands love and failure of my marriage was better than false love from him

  • Just because you give love doesn't mean you'll get it back in return... LIFE ISN'T FAIR. And,---it's a fact : If you love you're probably going to suffer somehow...

  • That passage (in its context) is saying that God is merciful even in our unbelief and rebelliousness. Humans can not understand this, but how can we when we are not of the same mind as God? God is love, all that He does is motivated by love and mercy. We can not earn His love because we can not earn Him. Our best gifts are as filth to Him. The only thing He asks is that we choose to obey His words by yielding our wills to Him.

  • I knew Lexylex would explain this well. I just love her spirit!

If you love God you get it in return but man is another thing. If someone doesn't have love (as we know it) to give then you can love all day and it won't come back. An example would be of a sociopath. They have no empathy for others so can't respond in "love" as most people understand love to be and there are many of those people out there.

  • If you love will you get love? Good question. But the answer is no, not every time.

  • If you love will you get love?

I think you have that backwards .... we love because God first loved us.

  • from God, sure, but you may not notice it at the time and it may not seem like it now. in the grand scheme of humanity, usually (im talking friend-love not romantic). but romantically, person to person, maybe, if you're lucky.

if you are a kind loving person other ppl will want to be around you, thus loving you in return. (general you).
