Salads?

I made a chicken caesar salad today for lunch. I really want to start serving salads more often, but I'm not really all that creative in the kitchen. I am sick of the same old boring salads. Do you lovely ladies have any really yummy salad recipes you would be willing to share? Or your favorite salad recipe websites? Thanks!!

  • I like to add imitation crab meat to mine that and sunflower seeds or pecans.
    And of corse whatever else you like

  • We will do salad thursdays... that is a salas made with all the left over veggies and meats from mon-wed. LOL.. kind of odd sometimes but a great way to use the left overs.

  • cooks dot com always has decent recipes for anything

    Heres my personal fav.
    Dressing
    1/2 cup purple onion
    1/2 tsp dry mustard powder
    1 c sugar
    1/2-1 c red wine ving.
    1/2 c oil (I use canola but if you have olive use it)
    salt and pepper
    mix all ingredience in a blender or food processor

    for the salad part
    mixed greens or romaine lettuse
    crumbled bacon
    slivered almonds
    craisons (I personally like the cherry ones best)

    Once you've got the greens mixed you just toss with a small amount of the dressing and serve

  • Taco salads are my fav. We just crumble up taco shells, brown meet and add the taco flavoring to it and then add letuce, cheese, salsa and whatever other goodies we have on hand.

  • I put all kinds of nuts, fruits and berries on spinach salad. A hard boiled egg is also good. I usually eat poppy seed dressing on my spinach salads. On my lettuce salads I use more veggies. I also like to add a little meat and use a horseradish dressing.

  • my FAVE is fresh spinach, sliced strawberries, feta cheese tossed with rasberry vinaigrette! I make it alot, then last night a friend made it and added crispy bacon and that was good too!

  • what about fruit salads besides just vegs. salads. My mom takes cool whip with pineapple, marshmallow, cherries, and man. oranges. But if just like salads then chicken salad, salad with berries or oranges, nuts, tuna salad, Then have some good boxs of suddenly salad that is good.

  • I buy one of those huge mixed greens tubs and give my kids salad most every night. We add whatever we are in the mood for, wlanuts blue cheese and currants, carrots broccoli and cauliflower, feta olives and onion, We also like spinach salad with any of those combos

  • ORIENTAL CHICKEN SALAD WITH CRUNCHY
    NOODLES ( my fav!!)

    1 lg. head finely shredded cabbage (about 12 c.)
    4 whole green onions, thinly sliced
    3-4 c. cooked chicken, shredded
    2 tbsp. sugar
    1/4 c. white vinegar
    1/3 c. salad oil
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 pkg. Top Ramen (chicken flavor)
    1/3 c. slivered almonds, toasted

    In a large salad bowl, combine cabbage, green onions, and chicken.
    In a small bowl combine the sugar, vinegar, oil, pepper and flavor packet from Top Ramen package, stir until dissolved. Pour over cabbage and toss lightly, cover and chill.

    Just before serving, crumble the dry noodles from soup mix into the salad. Sprinkle almonds on top and serve.
