Has your paycheck ever bounced?

I got a letter today from my bank stating my paycheck was returned unpaid. I called my boss and he said it must have been a clerical error b/c there was plenty of money.

Couldn't beleive it. Should I ask him to pay the NSF fees I'm going to get from the checks I wrote against it?

  • well technically your boss is not responsible for the checks your wrote against it. You are supposed to make sure the funds are in your account before writing checks off of it. (I used to work for a bank and in a payroll department of a company that wasn't the bank I worked for)

with that said, some employers will pay those fees but they are not required to.

all they are required to pay is the fee your bank charged you for the bad deposit.

  • How about not showing up to work and tell him your obligation bounced.
