What is your last resort for a job?

I've been on the job search for several months now. I haven't quite become as desperate as to go for a "last resort" job. I've been applying to jobs in office management, retail, video stores, and waiting tables; all jobs that I've had since 1997 (including the Navy). I don't know if I have a "last resort" list.

  • Fast food for sure. I worked at McTeacher's Night for my school, and I thought it was much harder than I expected and of course the pay must suck.

  • Do you have a trade of some kind? Like something that might interest you? I say find what it is, and get schooled on it. There are so many companies out there that are looking for that right person. You will have to do an internship, but it is worth it. I have been trained in 2 different trades. The first one, I interned at a grooming shop and learned from the best. The second one I was trained on the job and got benefits. You can do it, just takes a little self pep talk and talking to companies about what you want.

  • I'm not promoting a scam. I was simply stating an option.

  • Trash collectors (or anyone else working for the city) make decent pay. For my small (to me) town in northeast Texas, a Street Technician starts at $11.32/hour.
