  • Is she still nursing from the mom?If she eats wet food she is probably getting enough fluids.Keep fresh water available for her and she should start drinking on her own.I do hope you have the Mom of this puppy as they should stay with mom and their littermates until they are at least 10 weeks old.I DO NOT let my puppies go to their new homes before they are 10 weeks and sometimes I even keep them until they are 12 weeks.

  • How was she drinking water before you got her? You may have to get a water bottle like they used before you got her. Or even bottle feed her. Have you called her vet? I'm sorry hun, good luck.

  • do they make canned puppy food now? I wouldn't think that would be good for a puppy. I'd still be giving them milk and puppy food but it's been a while for me and puppies

  • hmmm...never thought there was a problem with giving a puppy canned food and did not know puppies could have I'm really starting to think if maybe what I am doing is not so good and doing more harm...I just do not know, I am new at this

  • She is not drinking the water because she is getting water from the canned food you are feeding her.

  • puppies do not need regular milk. they get milk from their mom or the milk replacer if they don;t have a mom. But at 8 weeks the puppy does not need milk any longer. They can eat regular dry dog food at that point.

  • Make sure the water bowl is small enough (tiny-sized) and fill the water to the top. For some reason, that breed doesn't like sticking their neck down into their water bowl.
