  • There are so many factors. Family history alone is nit a good indicator.

Did you breast feed? For how long? How many pregnancies have you had? Have you reached menopause? Do you smoke? Do you exercise? Do you live near an air port?

One family member having cancer is not enough to red flag you.

  • Does your Grandmother have it?

  • It depends entirely on her age. By 90, most women will have about a 50/50 chance of having breast cancer. But the same woman's odds at 30 are closer to one in 1000.

  • I have however fought colon cancer 5 yrs ago. so it makes me wonder if it increases my risk.

  • Yes, when there is a family history of breast cancer, it does increase your risk.
